What Even Are PFAS?

Come kick back, grab a beer, and learn with us!

Join CRC and speaker Cory Salmon for "What Even Are PFAS?," all about Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS), long-lasting chemicals resistant to degradation and commonly found in various consumer and industrial products. These substances, used since the 1930s and 1940s, are present in many common items, and exposure to PFAS is associated with serious health risks.

How is this being addressed? In addition to discussing PFAS, Cory will also outline some compliance requirements, compliance timelines set by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and water/wastewater treatment methods for PFAS. We will also briefly discuss funding opportunities at both state and federal levels, alongside the steps required for ongoing monitoring and compliance.

About the Speaker
